Freelancer
July 2017 – Present
Web Developer
I started to learn web development and cloud computing on my own and I was able get hired and build websites on top of WordPress and Laravel:
Highlights
  • One of my biggest projects was to build an online education/course and quiz platform for the University I studied at. The platform allowed students to view courses and attend online exams (quiz). The teachers would be able to evaluate each student and the performance they had and see areas of improvement. I learned how WordPress works, developed my PHP skills and then started to develop web applications that are based on the Laravel Framework (PHP web development framework).
  • I also developed my cloud computing skills as I had previous knowledge of networking from my previous roles (ibVPN -> security&privacy over the internet service). I managed to get my LPIC-1 Linux certification and the AWS associate Certificate so that I could host all projects on my own.
  • Another project that I successfully delivered was a small web app for a law company so that lawyers to manage their tasks for the client cases they had on a web application. This allowed lawyers to easily add in their time for tasks and generate bills their clients. This had to be a secure service, I was able to implement it on their internal network so that it could only be accessible from within their network.

I was fortunate to work with Julian for over two years. He immediately made a huge impact at Hootsuite, helping to demystify the space between product support and customer success. Julian was also key in helping build process and make life for both internal teams and end users easier. He would be an incredible asset to any organization that he is at and comes with my highest recommendation!

As CTO of Amplusnet/ibVPN, I was Julian's supervisor for almost 7 years. Based on Julian’s skills we have decided that he can manage the full life cycle development and maintenance of our Windows / Mac / Mobile application which he delivered successfully and thus played a key role in growing our Product. It was a good decision because he was able to clearly communicate with developers, provide QA and keep a close relation with the beta testers. Providing qood quality products product is mandatory for us and Julian’s made sure we deliver it. Julian was involved and proactive in most of our brainstorming related to our product and services. He is a team player and was involved in all formal and informal company actions: team building, parties and events. Please feel free to contact me if you like to discuss Julian’s qualifications and experience further. I’d be happy to expand on my recommendation.
